メンタルアップカウンセラーの越川啓子です。
大雪が降ったり、少し暖かい日があったりと、体調を崩しやすい気候が続いておりますが、みなさんお元気でお過ごでしょうか。
私も今年に入ってからずっと風邪が治らず、やっと熱が下がり回復の兆しが見えてきたものの、未だに乾いた咳が出て苦しんでいます。
今年の風邪は治りにくいです！
体調管理には、気をつけましょうね。
今回は、その風邪によって自宅で過ごすことが多かったので、読書した本から気付いたことを紹介します。
体調不良のときに難しい本はとっても読める気になれない私は、リラックスのため、次の展開や結末を考えなくて済むように、昔読んだことのある本を手にとってみました。
「注文の多い料理店」という本です。
そうですね、小学校の教科書に載っていたので、読んだ事のある方も多いと思いますが、宮沢賢治の児童文学の短編集です。
あらすじは、森に狩猟にやってきた青年紳士2人が道に迷った先で西洋料理店を見つけ、山猫に食べられそうになる、というものです。
小学生の頃これを読んだ私には、「猫って恐ろしい」という印象だけが強く残りました。
ところが、実はポイントはそこではなかったのですね。
この青年2人がクセ者で、イギリス風の西洋かぶれの格好をして、ゲーム感覚での猟を楽しむ為に山にやってきて、獲物が得られず、山の空気も険しく変わってきて、連れていた猟犬が死んでしまったというのに、彼らは「実にいくらの損害だ」などと金銭的な損失だけを気にしているような人たちだったのです。
果たして、この2人にしっぺ返しともいえる災難が降りかかるわけですが、最後には2人が無情にも見捨てた犬に助けられることになります。
この物語は短編でありながら、お金に対していやしい気持ちを持ち、また自然を軽視する人間の傲慢さ、愚かさに対しての皮肉にくわえ、たとえ冷淡な扱いを受けようとも救いの手を差し伸べる自然とをみごとに体現している作品でした。
月日が経過して改めて読んでみると、誤解や勘違いで記憶に残ってしまう事柄も、案外多いのだと感じます。 （私は猫に対する恐怖心が残っていたわけです）
この本に関しては私が当時きちんと読んでなかったのかもしれませんが（笑
もっといえば、たまに猫が苦手かもしれないと感じる時があること自体、この本の影響だとも言い切れませんよね。
日本にはおどろおどろしい化け猫が登場する昔話は数多くあるのですから。
日常生活でも、受け取る側によって、伝える側の意図と違った解釈となる場合があります。
これがずっと潜在的に残る事は非常に危険なことです。
あの人の言ったことは本当にあなたの考える「きっと、こう」の通りでしょうか。
もういちど振り返ってみるのも良い選択かもしれません。
