皆さん、こんにちには。メンタルアップカウンセラーの澤村直樹です。
今日はお子さんの反抗期について、一緒に考えてみたいと思います。
皆さんはご自身の体験としての反抗期を覚えていますか？
私は覚えていますが、その期間は比較的短く、母親もあまり深刻な問題として捉えていなかったように思います。
発達心理の分野では、３～４歳頃を「第一反抗期」、１３～１４歳頃を「第二反抗期」と呼び、自我が芽生え形成されていくための大切なステップであるとしています。
３～４歳の幼児期に起こりやすい反抗は、急にお母さんの言うことを聞かなくなり「イヤッ、イヤッ！」と、とにかく何でもかんでも拒否したがります。
これは、行動範囲や自分で出来ることが増えるにつれて、「こうしたい！」という欲求が出てくるので、お母さんから「～しなさい」と言われても納得できないためです。
子供が求めるものも、母子一体感から自己主張へと変化していきます。
また１３～１４歳の青年期には、幼児期よりもさらに「自分」という存在が確立され、親であれ「他人の言いなりにはなりたくない！」という気持ちと、その一方で「大人の仲間入りをしたい！」という２つの気持ちがぶつかり合っている状態です。
特に青年期では、様々な葛藤を心の中に抱えているので、親に本当の気持ちを素直に言えず余計にイライラしてしまいます。
しかも、基本的にはお父さんやお母さんからの愛情を感じているし、自分が反発して困らせていることもわかっているので、どんどん自己矛盾を起こしてしまうわけです。。
子供の反抗にはちゃんと理由がありますが、どんなに広い心で見守ろうと決めていても毎日毎日反抗されたら、お父さんお母さんだってイライラしてきちゃいますよね。
「もういい加減にしなさい！」とか「なんで言うことが聞けないの！」と、つい怒鳴ってしまいたくなるのも当然ですし、それはとても自然な感情の揺らぎなのです。
ただ問題なのは、怒鳴ってしまった後に「私はダメな親だ・・・」と自己嫌悪に陥ってしまったり、「私の育て方が間違っていたんだ・・・」と自分を責めてしまうことです。。
ここで気づかれた方もいらっしゃるかもしれませんが、子供が抱える自己矛盾と親が抱える自己嫌悪、なんだか似ているような気がしませんか？
愛情を感じているのに反発してしまったり、子供のことを思うあまり怒鳴ってしまったり・・・どちらもとっても歯痒い思いをしていますね。。
お子さんの反抗期をこれから迎える方、今まさに真っ最中の方、次回はこの反抗期への対処法をご紹介したいと思います。

@chels I know what you mean, its hard to find good help these days. People now days just don't have the work ethic they used to have. I mean consider whoever wrote this post, they must have been working hard to write that good and it took a good bit of their time I am sure. I work with people who couldn't write like this if they tried, and getting them to try is hard enough as it is.
